The ISWA 2008 is the latest symbol set for SignWriting, and the first to be released under the Open Font License.

The ISWA 2008 final represents the symbol set finalized on 20 October 2008 after a month long review.

[edit] HTML Reference

The HTML Reference is the definitive guide to the x-iswa-2008 coded character set. It includes the entire font as created by Valerie Sutton available under the Open Font License. The symbols were reformatted by Steve Slevinski for reduced size and standard color.

[edit] Symbol PNGs

Valerie Sutton hand crafted over 35 thousand PNG files. Each file is named after the symbol ID. The analysis and processing of these files are the roots of this project.

[edit] ASCII Reference

The ASCII Reference fully documents the ISWA 2008 final using only 7-bit ASCII. The data included in the ASCII reference is all that is needed to rebuild the symbols. Combined with Binary SignWriting, the sign language data will always be defined.
